Question:

Write a brief note on terrace farming and intercropping.

Answer:

Terrace farming is a process in which hill slopes are used as cultivable crops. The farmer cuts terraces into slopes to create flat areas to grow crops because flat land is scarce in hilly regions. Intercropping is different crops grown in alternate rows and are sown at different times to protect the soil from rain wash.
